Curriculum vitae


Irene Valasi graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2000) and received her PhD from the Faculty of Veterinary Science of University of Thessaly, Greece (2006). She is a Diplomate of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management (Dip ECSRHM 2013). Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Veterinary Science of University of Thessaly, where she serves since 2011. At post-graduate level she taught in Department of Animals Science of Agricultural University of Athens (2013-2018) and in the Department of Animal Production of TEI of Thessaly (2016-2018). She is the supervisor of one PhD-student and has been a member of the advisory committee of 7 PhD-students. She has been the leader of the research team of 2 research projects and member of 12 others (national or european). She has organized 2 European CPD–courses and she has been a trainer in other 2 CPD-courses (in Greece and in Spain). She has published 29 articles in peer review journal, 7 book chapters and one special issue in international journal (cumulative impact factor: 41.225) and she has received >460 citations. She has had 79 presentations in national and international congresses, in 5 of them participated as invited lecturer.
