  • Foodborne pathogens and Public Health
  • Occurrence, behaviour and enterotoxin production by Staphylococcus aureus in foods of animal origin.
  • Effect of Modified Atmosphere Packaging, essential oils, nisin against foodborne pathogens.
  • Occurrence and behaviour of mycotoxins in foods of animal origin.
  • Coxiella burnetii in milk.
 

Curriculum vitae


Pexara Andreana graduated and received her PhD degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1999 and 2005, respectively. She worked for more than five years as a Veterinarian in the public sector. From 2008 to 2014 she served as a lecturer and since 2014, she serves as assistant professor of Hygiene of Foods of Animal Origin at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Thessaly. She was member in the three-member advisory thesis committees of more than 35 and supervisor in more than 15 postgraduate theses (MSc). She is supervisor of a PhD thesis in progress. Since 2008, along with her undergraduate teaching at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, she has taught more than 10 different courses and 120 hours in 3 different postgraduate study programmes in the University of Thessaly. She is co-author of more than 25 journal publications, 15 papers and 44 abstracts in national and international conference proceedings and her published work has received more than 400 citations. He is also the author of 1 chapter in book. She has acted as a reviewer for 13 scientific international journals.
