Expansion \u2013 Extrusion techniques.\nUse of various agricultural by-products in animal and fish feeds (maize gluten meal, cotton seed cake, groundnut meal, rapeseed meal and rapeseed oil, winery by-products).\nUse and effect of probiotics on animal health and the quality of livestock products.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Dr. Pantazis is an aquatic scientist with a B.Sc.\/ M.Sc. in Agriculture & Animal Husbandry (1988) and a Ph.D. in Aquaculture Nutrition (2000).<\/p>\n From 1979 till 1993 he has been actively involved in underwater biological and archaeological research as a member of the European Institute of Underwater Activities (EURO.IN.U.A) and the Hellenic Institute of Marine Archaeology (H.I.M.A). Between 1988-1990, he served his military service in the Greek Armed Forces (Infantry - Tank's Division). From 1990 till 1993 he has worked in fin-fish hatcheries (sea bass \/ sea bream) in the areas of Dodecanese islands and Fokida County (Naphpaktos). As a scholar of the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece (S.S.F \/ I.K.Y) he was awarded the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aquaculture Nutrition by the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Scotland (1994-1998).<\/p>\n From 1997 till 2000 he was engaged in research (Research Associate \/ Scientific Officer) at the Dunstaffnage Marine Laboratory (Scottish Association for Marine Science, Oban, Scotland) and the Environmental Research Institute (University of Highlands and Islands, Scotland). His research aimed at issues of nutrition and husbandry of aquatic organisms.<\/p>\n From May 2001 till December 2005 he collaborated with the Department of Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment (University of Thessaly, Greece) as Adjunct Lecturer and Adjunct Assistant Professor. From October 2005 till September 2008, he served as Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Higher Alexandrian Technological Institution of Thessaloniki (\u0391\u03a4\u0395\u0399\u0398) at Nea Moudania (Halkidiki, Greece).<\/p>\n Since September 2007 he serves as a Lecturer & Assistant Professor in Ichthyology and Aquaculture (elected on 13\/04\/2006, appointed by Dean\u2019s Act 10208\/18-9-2006) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Greece. Since December 22, 2018 he serves as the Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Nutrition, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In August 2023 has been appointed as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, Greece.
