L.V. Athanasiou graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1993. She completed a one-year postgraduate training program in Animal Medicine at the same institution and subsequently obtained an MSc in Public Health from the National School of Public Health. In 2004, she was awarded her PhD by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.<\/span><\/p>\n

From 1996 to 2008, she held senior managerial positions in the pharmaceutical industry, working in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Research & Development.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2004, she has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly, and since 2022 she has served as Full Professor. She has participated in more than 15 doctoral advisory and examination committees. Her research output includes over 180 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and more than 200 conference presentations. She has served as a reviewer for more than 50 scientific journals, is a member of the editorial board of <\/span>Veterinary<\/span><\/em> Clinical<\/span><\/em> Pathology<\/span><\/em> and has acted as Guest Editor for <\/span>Microorganisms<\/span><\/em> and <\/span>Veterinary<\/span><\/em> Sciences<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

With extensive experience in Quality Policy from the pharmaceutical sector, she served for 10 years as coordinator of the Faculty\u2019s Internal Evaluation Group and as liaison officer during its successful evaluation, and she was also a member of the University Senate. In 2022, she was elected Vice President and, in 2024, President of the <\/span>International<\/span> Society<\/span> of<\/span> Animal<\/span> Clinical<\/span> Pathology<\/span>She is a founding member of Special Interest Groups in Biopathology\u2013Laboratory Diagnostics and Ruminant Medicine of the HVMS. She has served on international expert committees as well as a reviewer of national and European research and educational programs.<\/span><\/p>\n
