Irene Valasi graduated from the Veterinary School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2000) and received her PhD from the Faculty of Veterinary Science of University of Thessaly, Greece (2006). She is a Diplomate of the European College of Small Ruminant Health Management (DipECSRHM). Currently, she is a Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Science of the University of Thessaly, where she has been serving since January 2011, and vice Head of the Faculty. She has supervised two PhD thesis (one completed) and has been a member of the advisory committee of 10. She has been the leader of 3 research projects (one active) and member of 15 others (National or European). She has organized 2 European CPD\u2013courses and she has been a trainer in other 2. She has published 44 articles in peer review journals, 9 book chapters, two special issues in international journals as guest editor and 92 abstracts in national and international congresses (h index=18, >1000 citations).
